Baking Arts will be hosting a new International Baking Camp from 10am-2pm each day (5 days) for students 12 and up. Students will make a variety of sweet and savory bakes from all around the world including Old Fashioned Honey Babka (Ukraine), Millionaire's Shortbread (Great Britain), Mallorca Bread (Spain), Soffioni Abruzzesi (Italy), Naan (India), Diner-Style Cream Pie (US), and more!
We will focus on proper fundamental preparation and baking techniques, cooking science, measurements of ingredients and final presentation. We use the same recipes here as we do for our adult classes. If your son our daughter is a baking enthusiast and has already been dabbling in the kitchen, we are ready to take him or her to the next level. Class is fully hands on from start to finish of each recipe.
Lunch: Students should bring a sack lunch with them to class each day. Lunch will be eaten outdoors.
Attire: Dress is casual, comfortable clothing that might get dirty during class. No open toed shoes or flip flops allowed in the kitchen.
Allergens: The Baking Arts kitchen routinely uses nuts, soy, diary, wheat, chocolate and other potential allergens. Our program will use all of these components during the week. Please accept our apologies, but we do not currently have lactose/gluten/allergen free alternatives to our recipes.
Age Requirement: We have made a very conscious decision to teach older students. It's what we do best. Classes are designed for 12 and up. Children must be 12 years old on the first day of camp. Thank You for respecting our age requirements. Underage students enrolled in this camp will be sent home without a refund on the first day. We have had issues with parents enrolling students too young for our camp and the recipes we will be teaching. 10, 11 and 11.5 is not ok. We look forward to having them join us when they meet our age requirements. Please do not call us for an exception to our policy.
