Rising 7th–12th grade Lab students are guided through their
assigned summer reading book with a specific focus on
reading comprehension techniques, executive functioning
strategies, and independent learning and self-advocacy
skills.
Students will:
• read assigned book sections.
• complete assignments that focus on factual
comprehension, higher-level comprehension (e.g.,
inferences or predictions), and connections to self, the
world, and other texts.
• attend scheduled virtual sessions for video conferencing
and collaborative book discussions.
• integrate individualized feedback into all assignments.
