Special Needs
The majority of SSP boats can be adapted for use by a sailor with a disability, and SSP is the only location in the Northwest where a boater with a disability can come sail or paddle any day of the week during our boat rental season or take a camp or class. For sailing, this is made possible by our adaptations to many of our sailboats, and the use of our hoist for transfers.

Sail Sand Point is a community boating center dedicated to bringing the joy and life-enhancing benefits of sailing and small boats to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. SSP is proud to offer half and full scholarships to youth and adults, so that no one is excluded from the opportunity to come to Sail Sand Point and learn, regardless of financial circumstances.
