Wax Nostalgic is an exhibit of a wide variety of tiny sculptures carved out of everyday crayons by Hoang Tran. You can catch this display of tiny, unusual and fascinating sculptures from May 31 to July 29, 2025. It is located in the glass case of Saratoga Library's Lobby. This exhibit is available to view during the library's open hours.
About the Artist
Hoang Tran is an artist born and raised in Northern California and currently lives in Cupertino. He attended dental school before withdrawing to pursue more creative ventures. He now carves a wide variety of subjects out of everyday crayons using the same instruments and skills he learned in dental school. Instead of painting his carvings, wax from other colored crayons is melted and carefully applied to the main crayon. Thus each carving is made completely out of crayon wax.
