CharacterWorks is a faith-based non-profit 501(c)3 after-school theater program that has been offering classes, camps and productions for students age 6-18 since 2001.
CharacterWorks is based around three foundational programs: theater arts classes, Broadway-style shows, and musical theater summer camps. During the fall, winter, and spring, students are invited to enroll in one of our musical theater-inspired classes in 8-week sessions. Students enrolled in classes for ages 8-18 are eligible to audition for one of the mainstage productions in the corresponding session. Then, summer brings a variety of musical theater day camps for campers ages 6-18.
The purpose of all of these programs is to educate and encourage children’s gifts and talents in the arts, and to instill in them biblical Christian values and an awareness of their relationship with God through Jesus.
It offers Special needs support. Contact for details.
CharacterWorks is committed to serving the Richmond area community and encouraging our students to serve. Whether it be sending characters to community events, bringing students to run drama games and workshops for Youth Life, providing scholarships to families in financial need or in the middle of a difficult life event, or giving tickets to community programs, the CharacterWorks family strives to serve its community.
