An intro course and broad overview of drawing approaches and fundamental skills for beginner level teens. This course will begin with still life object drawings and proceed through working from photo reference of animals, landscapes, faces and humans. Materials demos will include pencil, ink, and compressed charcoal.
Additional Information Suggested Materials:
(For week 1: bring only a pencil and large white paper)
- Pencils: HB, 2B, 4B
- 1 Sketchbook for notes and thumbnail sketches (any comfortable size) Alphacolor Compressed Char-Kole Blocks – (3 block set is fine).
- 1 Kneaded Eraser and 1 Regular Pink or White Eraser.
- Micron Pigma Ink Pens: size 03, 05, 08
Brush Pens, Fountain Pens, Ink tools (*optional: bring any you may own).
- 1 pad large paper for finished projects: Strathmore 400 Series (approx 12 x 16 in).
