This online class covers the basic foundations of watercolor while also addressing many of the primary principles of landscape painting. There will be demonstrations and exercises covering color and value, painting a wash, creating depth on a flat piece of paper, and color mixing.
Students will first be encouraged to create a graphite value drawing before using the watercolors, thus establishing value, composition and focal point for their paintings.

Students only need have graphite drawing pencils, a sketch pad and a 4x6 “ resource landscape photo for the first class. We will discuss all the watercolor materials listed on the supply sheet on the first day.
