Paint large scale abstract paintings using these 3 dynamic mediums. I will teach you how to prepare your canvas or wood board before you attend this fun and exciting workshop! (see instructions on the supply list) The interactions between these 3 mediums is so exhilarating and exciting.
Alcohol inks are a vibrant and versatile medium that can be used to create stunning abstract paintings. We use air to blow paint around, titling of the substrate and brute force, and flinging with a paintbrush or scraper! Get ready to have the best day of your life!
There will be a one hour break around 12PM to move your car and get a bite to eat.
Before Class, you will need to prep your canvas or wood board. I prefer wood panels. The larger they are, the more fun you have!

You will need to purchase Kilz from Home Depot or Lowe’s or Amazon prior to the prep. And fine sandpaper.
Materials

Alcohol ink Blending solution
Palette knife
Dorland’s wax medium or Gamlin
Palette (I use reynolds freezer paper)
Various papers for collage, tissue paper
Paper towels
Gloves (alcohol ink is very staining)
Tape (I use blue tape)
Pastels (oil, chalk, glitter, vine charcoal)
Hair dryer or heat gun
91% Isopropyl Alcohol (best to disperse in a squirt bottle instead of a spray bottle) Same with bleach.
Paint brushes & credit card
Small mixing cups
Watercolor Note
You can use traditional paint tubes or pan watercolors...however you will need to make a large amount of it for painting so I recommend three other products that work amazing and you can use lots of it! You can just buy the primaries and mix your own colors:
- Blick liquid watercolor
- Sax concentrated liquid watercolor
- Dr. Ph. Martin’s concentrated WC
