Wildlife Volunteers: Plover Protection Patrol

TRUDEAU TRAINING CENTER (Oakland) and CROWN MEMORIAL STATE BEACH (Alameda) - The Western Snowy Plover is a threatened species protected by law from harm. During this training session, you will discover the love of plovers, and then join our volunteer patrol collecting valuable data that aids in the recovery of these special status overwintering birds at Crown Beach. We typically monitor the plovers daily for 1.5 to 2 hours during the hightide cycle.
