Taiko is the art of Japanese drumming, which develops self-expression and musical creativity. This class engages in uchikomi-based practice. Taiko is a demanding and challenging endeavor that requires physical conditioning and flexible joints and muscles. Students should have a sense of rhythm and stamina to hit a drum for two hours. All the equipment, including drums and sticks in class, is provided.
Please Note:
- No class held on 4/4 and 8/8.
- A non-refundable material fee of $120 is due to the instructor on the first class meeting.
- Participants should not wear any accessories such as a watch, bracelet, earrings, or necklace.
- Participants will be barefoot during class and not wear socks or shoes.
- Because of the physical nature of this class, individuals with physical impairments, past injuries, or medical conditions should speak to the instructor before signing up for the class.
- Instructor reserves the right to reject questionable physical conditions and/or require a doctor, written permission, and written waiver of liability.
