The word “yoetz” means “counselor” in Hebrew, and becoming a camp counselor and leader is what our C.I.T. program is all about.
As a counselor-in-training (C.I.T), you’ll gain the skills necessary to lead. This program is a challenging and exciting adventure that will give you the skills to effectively work with children of all ages! You will have the chance to practice these skills in a supportive setting with feedback and mentorship while learning to enhance your professional and academic development — all the essential skills you’ll need to succeed at camp, school, and in the workplace.
CITs will have the opportunity to become certified in CPR & First Aid and earn community service hours for each completed 4-week session.
Yoetz is for campers who will be entering 9th or 10th grade in the Fall of 2024. (Campers who are 13-15 are eliglbe to register, even if entering 11th grade. If you are 16 years old and still wish to participate in the Yoetz Program, please email camp@jvalley.org.)
