This September, POP returns to WeHo's "Free Theatre in the Parks" series with a musical revue of beloved opera and musical theatre tunes telling the story of Cinderella! Six performances only at Kings Road Park in West Hollywood. This event is free and open to the public.
For the first time ever, Pacific Opera Project (POP) presents a mashup opera of everybody’s favorite fairytale: Cinderella! Taking the best music and funniest scenes from both Massenet’s Cendrillon and Rossini’s Cenerentola, and adding in a little bit of POP magic, POP’s Cinderella Story tells a young girl’s whirlwind love story from housemaid to princess. With twists, turns, and tricks at every anchor, featuring a handsome prince charming, two very evil stepsisters, and an overly dramatic king, this hilarious new take is bound to leave you feeling “happily ever after!”
"Cinderella" is directed by Jack Zager and will feature cast members Christina Pezzarossi, Emily Scott, Lydia Brown, Jessica Gonzalez-Rodriguez, Dominic Salvati, Byron Mayes, and Christopher Walters. It can be enjoyed by the entire family, with a running time of 90 minutes, and will be sung in English with a live piano.
