Mountain View Los Altos Soccer Club (MVLA)

About

MVLA is committed to developing strong, technically proficient soccer players who reach their potential both on and off the field.

Our Impact

Throughout the years MVLA has impacted the lives of thousands of youth soccer players and has been extremely successful in developing and producing top players in the community such as Abby Dahlkemper (US Women's National Team, 2019 FIFA World Cup Champion, UCLA), Teresa Noyola (Stanford, Herman Trophy Winner) and our very own Executive Director, Joe Cannon (MLS Player). Whatever the path our players choose, MVLA has enriched their lives.

Our Coaches

Our club's success is a direct reflection of the coaches who have been on staff who share their passion for soccer and a deep commitment for our players' development. MVLA has been home to outstanding coaches such as US National Coach, Steve Sampson; current Technical Director of the San Jose Earthquakes, Chris Leitch; current DOC of Los Gatos United, Kelly Gray; coach to 9 State Championships and 1 National Championship, Alberto Montoya; and our current Technical Director and US National U17 Coach, Albertin Montoya.

Our Directors

Albertin Montoya, Technical Director, and Joe Cannon, Executive Director began their soccer careers with MVLA as youth players and today have returned to lead the club and its mission. Their first-hand experience as MVLA players has had an impact on their own lives that they in turn want to share with as many people as possible.

Our Community

MVLA has always been a pillar in the community. Over the past years, MVLA has been providing opportunity for players at all ages, by offering scholarships and programs in the community. With over a 1000 players, hundreds of volunteers, MVLA is a community of families, parents and players who are More than a Club.

We have bilingual staff and maintain a minimum of a 12:1 player: coach ratio in order to provide appropriate support for all players.

We have the ability to staff additional support for players with special needs as deemed appropriate.
