This action packed week will focus solely on rockets and the physics of rocket flight. After learning the model rocket safety code, campers will build ten different types of rockets and participate in the launching of 6 different rockets during the week-long program. Children will be divided into three groups; altitude trackers, launch preparation and launchers for all rocket launches and will get the opportunity to try all three roles.
Astronaut Training:
Discover technology designed for outer space! Steer a laser beam through a laser maze, find hidden mountains using the principles of radar technology, and discover everyday objects that were originally designed for use in space!
Go For Launch!:
Learn about rocket stability, and create a final rocket design based on the knowledge you have gained in camp. Finish work on your water powered rocket and demonstrate the rocket principles that you have learned all week with a launching finale!
Mission Control:
Children will discover the fundamentals involved in launching rockets during this program. They will explore the concepts of altitude and altitude tracking and continue work on their own model rockets. Launch number two happens today!
Mission Recovery:
Get ready to recover! Experiment with the best way to recover a rocket. Learn about parachutes, streamers, helicopters, and other types of recovery systems in this fun-filled day. End camp with the third launch of the week!
Rocket Science:
This is your chance to be a rocket scientist! Explore the science involved in rocket construction as you build your own rocket.
