Broaden your ability to analyze, conceptualize and create through a dynamic practice that focuses on better and bolder creative decision making. With the guidance of a professional artist, students will be challenged through dynamic medium exploration. In this course, students will work in a studio environment under a practicing artist to round out their portfolio preparation. Students will be challenged to think outside of the box and problem solve to create several original series for their portfolio centered around themes that they develop throughout the class. The class will explore a variety of processes traversing different mediums, including photography, printmaking, digital media and traditional drawing.The course will be in a studio environment and will push students to confidently verbalize ideas through self-evaluation as well as group critiques. Students should wear art-friendly clothing and bring a non-perishable lunch to every session.
Note: This course is offered for one hour of college credit. Students are encouraged to take credit classes in sets of three; three hours of college credit are generally equivalent to one college class. Courses taken for credit will appear on a student's transcript.
