Bump, Set, Attack in i9 Sports® volleyball! The i9 Sports volleyball program is played indoors or outdoors in a 4 v 4 or 6 v 6 format. Small team sizes allow your child to get maximum touches on the ball. The game is designed to keep kids moving, engaged and learning new skills. With modified court sizes and rules, the i9 Sports format is the perfect way to teach kids ages 7 - 14 the fundamentals of volleyball while developing their hand-eye coordination, agility, and overall athletic skills. And best of all, it comes with all the benefits you’ve come to expect from i9 Sports: fun, safety, and emphasis on good sportsmanship.
Juniors
Meet us at the net! The i9 Sports Junior volleyball curriculum focuses on skill development with progressive drills that promote using the net and high frequency of touches on the ball. With the first two weeks of the program being instructional only, your child will be more ready for game play in week 3. Your child will continue to finesse the fundamentals of volleyball; setting, bumping, attacking, digging and serving through various drills that will build on each other throughout the season. The focus is on progress, not perfection. Drills aim to improve the large motor skills as well as spatial awareness. Scores are kept and rules are enforced through teachable moments, in a fun, low pressure environment.
Senior
The i9 Sports Senior volleyball curriculum aims to improve large motor skills, spatial awareness and good sportsmanship. The curriculum starts with the first week of the program being instructional only to get the jitters out, learn vital skills of the game and increase the ability to rally during game play. In week two, game play is introduced to promote teamwork and competition in a low stress environment. Drills are developed for net sharing to increase the ability of the players to execute rally’s during the game as your child continues to master the fundamental volleyball skills. Scores are kept and rules are enforced. As players continue to gain confidence in the sport, the game naturally becomes more competitive in a fun, age appropriate setting.
