An optimal learning space for your young artist to delve into the visual arts.
Develop Craft
Improve our art skills through practice. Learn to organize and care for our art materials, tools, and art making space.
Envision
Picture ideas in our head and plan the next steps in our mind, as we work. Ask ourselves: what will my art be about? What materials will I use? How big will it be? How long will it take?
Express
Create works that convey an idea, feeling, or personal meaning. Our expression changes with our choice of ideas, media, and techniques.
Understand Art Worlds
Learn about art history, see how contemporary artists make art, understand the roles of artists, galleries and museums.
Observe
Take time to notice details in our environment, through sight, touch, taste, sound and smell.
Reflect
Look back on the work we have done. This may include sharing verbally and in writing.
Stretch & Explore
Try things that might be difficult and discover new ideas and ways of working.
Engage & Persist
Focus on our work and stick with it, even when it gets hard.
Designated spaces such as TAB, Books, and Board games are also available for our students to enjoy during their downtime. (*TAB or "Teaching for Artistic Behavior" environments enable students to choose from a selection of structured work spaces, with clearly defined expectations for self-directed learning)
