Join us for Roller Coaster Design Camp and learn to create your own model-sized roller coasters!
In addition to having tons of fun and building skills in design and construction, you will also learn basic concepts in physics such as gravity, mass, inertia, velocity, acceleration, and potential energy, that you can apply when building the ultimate roller coaster.
Working in teams, you will use FAO Schwarz® and Thames and Kosmos kits to build two to three motorized roller coasters each week. Work with interlocking plastic rods, connectors, blocks, gears, wheels, and other components, which can be pieced together to form a wide variety of models, machines, and architectural structures. FAO Schwarz® roller coasters take hundreds of pieces to build, making it a truly epic experience. You can build with instructions and/or use your skills to add modifications to the roller coasters.
Using Roblox and Minecraft as learning tools, utilize various skills to create and customize your own virtual roller coasters. Build your own virtual theme park with unique rideable roller coasters.
On Friday afternoon, each team gives a demonstration of their final roller coaster designs and hosts an amusement park experience.
