Musical Theatre: Hamilton | Acting 101

In the morning, students explore the music of one of the greatest musicals of the century! Students take their shot at the songs from Hamilton and bring them to life with choreography. Using warm-ups, theatre games, and acting and singing exercises, campers develop an understanding of ensemble and musical theatre staging.

Then in the afternoon, put down the sheet music and pick up the scripts. Through games and exercises, students explore the basics of character development to build believable characters for the stage. Campers work together as an ensemble towards scene work; creating truthful characters and compelling stories for the stage.

Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks. Week-long after-care is available (4:00-6:00 p.m.).

This program is intended for ages 11 to 14.

Imagination Stage endeavors to create an inclusive and welcoming environment, as well as equitable access to all artistic and educational programming for students, staff, patrons, professional artists, and visitors of all abilities. We offer both inclusive and peer group settings, and our staff works with students and their families to identify and provide the most successful experience for each student. Parents are encouraged to provide complete information on registration forms for classes at Imagination Stage and will be contacted by a member of our Access team to discuss reasonable and respectful accommodations and support strategies. Strategies may include pre-program student/family visits, additional staff support, and continued observation and follow-up.
