Ignite: Summer Learning at Grand Rapids Public Schools

About

At Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS), we want our scholars to enjoy their summer by exploring, learning, playing, and growing! That’s where Ignite: Summer Learning at GRPS comes in! During our 6-week summer program, GRPS scholars will boost their academic understanding and go beyond the classroom to learn through field trips, hands-on projects, and workshops with local organizations.

The Office of English Learners ensures academic achievement for all English Learners by promoting English language proficiency through rigorous instruction that integrates both content and language learning and by valuing our scholars' rich language and cultural backgrounds.

Ignite: Summer Learning at Grand Rapids Public Schools offers support for students with special needs. Contact for more details.

Attending college or trade school increases opportunity and opens doors to careers. We know, however, that many people who could most benefit from education after high school are not able to afford it. Our need-based scholarships are here to give students a boost on their path to higher education.

Since 1945, Grand Rapids Community Foundation has been a major scholarship provider in Kent County, awarding more than $1 million every year to hundreds of students pursuing a higher education.
