The New Ballet Difference
The New Ballet School Summer Intensive provides high-quality, pre-professional ballet training featuring the renowned American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum. A smaller program with expert faculty ensures that students get the individual attention and intensive training they are looking for.
Our Six-Week Intensive offers a comprehensive training experience for the serious ballet student. Study ballet technique with ABT Certified teachers, with pointe, partnering, contemporary, and conditioning as appropriate for each level. Learn excerpts from the classical ballet repertoire and perform in a celebratory showcase for family and friends!
Level A - Suitable for New Ballet School students placed in Levels 2B-4B for the 2024-2025 School Year. Students from other schools should typically study ballet at least 3-4 days a week and should have studied ballet for 3 years to participate.
Students should have started, or will participate starting flat in preparation for starting pointe work soon.
Prerequisites: Students should have started point work, or will participate starting flat in preparation for starting pointe work soon. Appropriate for NB students levels 2A-4A during the 2023/2024 School Year.
Students from other schools should typically study ballet at least 3-4 days a week and should have studied ballet for 3 years to participate.
Level B - Suitable for New Ballet School students placed in Levels 4B - 6 for the 2024-2025 School Year. Students from other schools should have at least three years of pointe training and should typically study ballet at least five days a week to participate.
Prerequisites: Students from other schools should have at least three years of pointe training and should typically study ballet at least five days a week to participate.
Four Week Intensive
Students who were in NB Levels 1B-3B for 2024-2025 or outside students who are 10 - 13 should come to the 11 - 12:30am placement class and students 4A and up in 2024-2025 or outside students 14 and up should come to the 1 - 2:30pm placement class on Monday, June 30th
After placement class, your student will be assigned a class level for the remainder of the intensive.
Prerequisites: Students ages 10-13 should be dancing at least 3 days a week to participate. Students ages 14 and up should be dancing at least 4-5 days a week with at least 2 years on pointe to be placed in a class level with their peers.
