This class is designed to help dancers develop flexibility and strength through deep stretching and body conditioning. Strong muscles are vital for protecting the body and improving dance skills.
Dancers will develop skills in all technical aspects of jazz dance. You'll learn how to execute more difficult turns, leaps, chaines, axle turns, grand jete leaps (front and 2nd), pique turns, fouettes, a la seconde turns, C jumps, scissor leaps, and more complicated footwork and combinations.
Movement is age-appropriate while continuing to build a repertoire of steps and progressions that will be used for a routine at competitions.
Women: Black fitted T-shirt or cami, black leggings or black jazz pants or leotard and tights, black or pink ballet slippers. Chiffon ballet skirt is optional.
Men: Black or white t-shirt and black long shorts to knee or black jazz pants, black yoga /workout pants, black ballet slippers.
