San Jose Stage Company offers a rewarding experience for high school, college students, graduates and young professionals who are interested in pursuing a career in theatre. This program provides paid positions (compensated at an hourly rate of minimum wage) and places students in experiential internships in production (sound, light, backstage support) and administrative/program (management, development, marketing/communications, audience services) settings. Our Internship Program provides a professional working environment with the opportunity to work with some of the Bay Area's top theatre artists. Interns can also join the Actors Equity Association (Equity) Membership Candidates(EMC) Program which provides actors and stage managers in training to credit theatrical work in certain Equity theatres towards eventual membership in Actors Equity Association (AEA). San Jose Stage Company is one of the few professional theatre organizations that offer the EMC Program in the San Francisco Bay Area.
