This series Everyone Can Code: Swift Playground class is for 3-5 grade students who will learn how the program runs. It is in 4 weeks from June 8 - 29 at 3:00 - 4:00 pm.
Students will interact directly with the Swift programming language by entering code into OneCompiler and reviewing the output. Examples will focus on code syntax and logic.
Programming concepts like statements, functions, loops, variables, and algorithms can easily be learned using Swift. Understanding and mastering these programming concepts will be helpful while learning any other coding language like C or Python.
🔍 What You'll Learn:
Week 1 - Introduction to statements and Variables: Write statements that relate to command sequences and introduction to variables.
Week 2 - Conditional Statements: Concepts like if statements and logic conditions to make decisions in code.
Week 3 - Functions: Introduction to functions, including defining and calling them, which help structure and organize code more effectively.
Week 4 - Loops: Learn about loops and implement loops in coding (for-in, while, and nested loops).
🧑🏫 Who Can Join:
Perfect for 8-10-year-olds with a passion for coding and a curious mind! With the combination of using Swift Playground (learn to code 1 series) and OneCompiler (practice to write code), participants will understand more about coding in a traditional and realistic coding environment. This series class is your first leap into the vast and exciting world of programming.
We will be using library-provided iPads.
Students who sign up for June 8 will automatically be enrolled in the entire 4-week series.
