Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design

Ku saabsan

The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) is Wisconsin’s only four-year, nonprofit, private college of visual art and design. MIAD is a member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD), a consortium of 39 leading art schools in the United States and Canada.

Mission

We ignite curious minds through art, design and service.

Values

Courage, to seek our own path

Integrity, to pursue our lives and work with meaning

Kindness, to thoughtfully engage with others

Community, to positively contribute to the world around us

Innovation, to meet universal challenges in new ways

Inclusion, to find strength in diversity

Vision

We will be a galvanized educational and creative community, addressing universal needs through our thought, design and expression.

Students with a disability, whether physical, learning, sensory, or psychological, are encouraged to contact the MIAD’s Student Accessibility Coordinator, Nichole Uecker. Nichole’s office is located near the Library and Academic Succes Center in Room RL95B. Students must meet with the Accessibility Coordinator before they can obtain accommodations for their disability.

MIAD encourages students and families to be aware of scholarship and grant opportunities that are available from non-MIAD sources. Many scholarships that do not originate with MIAD are available to students who may qualify based on special skills, community activities, ethnic or racial heritage, or other criteria. Good sources of information about these scholarships are high school guidance offices, libraries, a parent’s place of employment, churches and civic organizations.
