Learn In-Demand Web Design Skills and Create Your Own Website!
At Web Development Camp, learn how to create, code, and customize your own website!
At camp, learn to use HTML, CSS, and Javascript – industry-standard development tools that every web developer needs to know.
Discover how the internet works and what is really happening when you navigate between different web pages. We’ll discuss web browsers, local systems, servers, and more! With this new understanding, we’ll teach you how to build a page in HTML, viewable in any browser.
The next step in your web development journey is to learn how to customize and style your new web page with CSS. CSS is the style language that is used to control how websites are presented, including the layout, colors, and fonts. We’ll also cover how to design for various screen sizes on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
Later in the week, we’ll get into programming dynamic and interactive elements using Javascript and powerful libraries, the same tools used by real web developers all across the globe.
Once you have the basics down, you’ll get a chance to create your own concept for a website and bring it to life! This is your very own website, that you get to take home and share with your friends and family. At the end of the week, we will show you how to publish the site after leaving camp so you can share it with the world if you would like.
Terms & Conditions: Campers are required to come to camp with a verified GitHub account (which can be created for free on the GitHub website). Please note, if registering for Web Development Camp, you agree to the following: Campers will make their website private but will be able to edit/build their site during the week. Campers must keep their website private during the entire camp week. Once a camper establishes their website, the website is owned/managed completely by the camper and their legal guardian, and is unaffiliated with Lavner Education. If the camper would like to make their website live when the camp camp week is complete, it is the camper/legal guardians’ option to publish/manage the site.
NOTE: No session in July 4
