Photographs are more than just snapshots. When taken the right way, they become dramatic personal statements with the power to last forever. They can transport you to distant landscapes, capture fleeting emotions, recall cherished memories, reveal the beauty of daily life, and even change the world. This summer we will learn advanced lighting techniques and Photoshop techniques including: advanced compositing, color manipulation, stop animation, and cinema-graphs. We will also learn camera techniques including how to effectively use shutter, aperture, and ISO to create this best photograph possible. This course is a chance to learn, in a way anyone can grasp, the basic insights and hidden secrets of photography.
Equipment Requirements: a DSLR digital camera (preferable); if using a phone, camper must purchase an app (instructions given on first day of camp).

A Providence Day School education is an investment in your child’s future. PD offers financial assistance to qualified students on the basis of demonstrated financial need and the availability of school funds. To help determine a family’s eligibility for financial aid and estimate family contribution, PD uses School and Student Service for Financial Assistance. While PD attempts to meet the need of qualified students, every family is expected to contribute to their child’s tuition.
