Taught by our current garden expert,Christy Betts, STEM in the Garden connects students to nature, as well as provides them with multiple opportunities to practice and enrich academic concepts. Students will study plants and insects, learn nutrition skills, record and analyze weather patterns, learn to use various measuring instruments, and engineer solutions to real-life problems in agriculture. Using the Head-Royce garden as our outdoor laboratory, students will use hands-on STEM experiences to build on prior knowledge, and to make new and lasting connections to the living science around them.
