Scholarships: Portland Youth Dance, the resident non-profit youth dance company, provides several scholarships each year for qualified applicants to take a dance class once a week throughout the school year at Casco Bay Movers Dance Studio, culminating with an end-of-the-year performance. Applications can be submitted from the community at large. Each scholarship is based on financial need, individual qualities, and professional recommendation and is determined by the Board of Directors. Scholarships are awarded in August of each year. PYD is able to provide several scholarships to dancers in need with the help of Casco Bay Movers and their incredible generosity.
