The Hall is gearing up for another great season of Winter Camps! This year, our single-day camps are offered daily, December 18–22. Each day of camp offers new and different activities to explore and discover science. From creating wearable technology to meeting animal friends, we have the right camp for your child!
Monday 12/18: Three Little Engineers
What can the Three Little Pigs teach us about building structures? Be inspired by this classic fable to learn more about the engineering design process. Use your imagination as you design, build, test, and modify structures for windy places!
Tuesday 12/19: Animal Engineers
Take an architectural tour of nature without leaving the Lawrence Hall of Science! You will get to see and even touch nature’s master builders from our Animal Discovery Room: Meet our friendly birds, spiders, hamsters, and other animals, then explore the many ways and materials they use to create nests, webs, and underground tunnels!
Wednesday 12/20: Gravity and Motion
Do you want to make a mechanical machine that wheels down ramps? How would you make it travel farther by using the power of physics? Investigate gravity and motion through playful experiences!
Thursday 12/21: Toy Builder
Are you curious about how electrical devices work? Experiment safely with both simple and complex circuits. Discover the importance of conductors and insulators when testing and sorting materials. Light up your winter by making a light switch for a toy that you yourself invent!
Friday 12/22: Robot Artist
Do you want to have fun while exploring the basics of circuits, motors, and mathematical patterns? Create a robot that can draw, while you figure out how to change the way it moves. Take your brand-new robot home: The possibilities are limitless!
Extended Day
The Extended Day from 4pm–5pm allows children enrolled in camps to participate in fun, after-camp activities at the Hall. Campers are responsible for bringing their own snacks and beverages for Extended Day. Please do not bring peanut or tree nut products, out of consideration for the safety of campers with allergies. Campers may visit exhibits and participate in arts and crafts during Extended Day.
We have limited funds available to assist families in financial hardship on a first-come, first-serve basis.
