This summer kids participate in a variety of activities surrounding healthy lifestyles and fun topics in medicine! During these sessions, we cover Little Wilderness School and Sports Medicine themes, including Hypothermia, Water Safety, tourniquets, snake bites, etc. Kids have the opportunity to work with real pre-medical students and engage in fun physical activities!
Little Wilderness School and Sports Medicine bring medicine, science, and the importance of health and outdoor safety to children in an entertaining, exciting, and fun way.
Little Wilderness School: Our program teaches children about some of the dangers in the wild and how to safely handle a medical situation. For example, students learn about snake bites, hypothermia, how to tie a tourniquet, splint a broken bone, filter dirty water, 20 uses of a bandanna, and how to treat bug bites.
Little Sports Medicine School: Our program teaches children about some of the most common sports injuries and how to deal with them. Students learn about the joints and fascinating ways they allow for a variety of motion. Additionally, students will learn about surgical techniqu
