What You'll Do
Make a magnificent magnetic scene that moves like magic. Be visionary as you invent your own unique character, goals and setting, then bring them to life using paper and cardboard. Learn paper-crafting skills to create each dimensional element and art techniques like outlining and color grouping to embellish them. Use the mysterious power of magnets to advance your character through your scene as if it was moving on its own.
What You'll Need
Materials
- 1 strong magnet (not a flexible decal; test its strength by making sure it can move a paperclip through a piece of cardboard)
- 2 paper clips (any size)
- 1 piece of cardboard, approximately 10 x 10″
- 2 sheets of standard-size white paper
- 1 set of markers (not colored pencils or crayons)
- Tape (any type)
- Scissors
Technology
- Computer or tablet with speaker and camera
- Internet access
- Zoom application installed
- Signed in with your child’s name
- Unmuted (the instructor will manage class muting/unmuting)
