Chinese Classes

Omei Academy students have the opportunity to take Chinese classes every day. Following the Ma LiPing's teaching philosophy they use texts, that are age appropriate and attractive to students. The aim is to help them learn correct pronunciation, rhythm, sentences, and composition. Our students focus on speaking, listening and reading and according to their level they are taught and encouraged by the teachers to write simplified characters.

Math Classes

Students in Omei Academy learn Math on daily basis. Supported by a qualified Math teacher they are challenged with mathematical problems from the Singapore Math work books, that are aligned with the Common Core Standard, recently introduced to the Cupertino School District program. Students concentrate on building a clear set of mathematical concepts and are encouraged to solve real world problems. Developing a depth of understanding and ability to apply mathematic to real situations is a goal Omei Academy has set for all attending students.

English Classes

Students at Omei Academy take English Language classes on a daily basis, enhancing content knowledge, and a vast exposure to a range of texts and English related tasks. Students at Omei Academy learn principles of elite writing for all genres. Younger students learn how to write paragraphs that summarize texts and show understanding of details in grade appropriate texts. Older students learn how to write essays that answer questions that require critical thinking of academic and fictional texts such as Flowers for Algernon, The Fall of the House of Usher, and Frindle. English classes at Omei Academy give students an ability to study English in a fun and enlightening way.
