Prelude classes are for boys in preschool and kindergarten. This unique program is not in a traditional choir format, but offers music education focusing on fundamental music skills including vocal development, reading and writing basic music symbols, reinforcing natural abilities with pitch and rhythm, and ensemble development. Classes are conducted in an exciting and positive learning environment allowing boys to explore and enjoy music, boosting intelligence, confidence, and help them achieve success in future musical and academic endeavors.
PBA’s Prelude program offers:
- Singing to maximize individual vocal development
- Elementary Reading and Writing of Music Symbols to acquire basic
music literacy
- Playing Percussion Instruments to develop independent musicianship
- Participating in the Ensemble Experience to prepare for later
instrumental and choral lessons
- Learning Musical Concepts to establish basic musical vocabulary
- Music Listening to introduce a variety of genres
- Exploring Multicultural Music to promote musical diversity and
appreciation
