Intro to Songwriting

Unlock your inner songwriter! Learn how to craft lyrics and melodies and leave having composed 2-3 songs for your portfolio. No prior music or lyric writing experience needed. Basic instrument skills (guitar, ukulele, piano) recommended but not required.

Registration Note: The class is limited to 8 students and must meet a minimum enrollment by 1/13/24 to run for the Spring Semester.

Materials: Students are required to bring a notebook/journal or electronic tablet for notetaking. Participants should bring their instruments to class, as applicable.

Please Note: Face coverings are optional on campus. However, individual faculty may choose to require masks in their studios or classrooms. CSMA supports faculty in making this decision for their individual studios/classes.
