Arduino is a microcontroller capable of integrating with the outside world through its analog and digital I/O pins. The class will create a variety of projects and applications using this popular open source platform. In this course, you will learn the following:
- Learn fundamental electronic concepts such as voltage, current and resistance.
- Wire up simple circuits using LEDs, switches, transistors, potentiometers, buzzers and more.
- Program the device using the Arduino IDE and the Processing language which is based on C.
- Program the device using Scratch 4 Arduino (http://s4a.cat/).
The material fee covers the cost of the Arduino starter kit which includes the Arduino UNO R3 PLUS board, breadboard, USB cable, battery holder, and components (e.g. LEDs, resistors) which is yours to keep. If you already have this, you can sign up without the material fee.
