Adaptive Cooking Camp is a new camp that will teach teens with developmental disabilities to learn basic kitchen safety, basic menu planning, and preparing simple dishes. The menus during the week will include breakfast, lunch, dinners, and deserts. Camp will include lecture, observation, and hands on preparation. Participants must be able to function in a 1:4 staff to participant ratio, and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care. Attendants will be required to pass a City of San Jose background check in programs that serve youth under 18 years of age.

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services (PRNS) Scholarship Program will ensure that qualifying San José residents have affordable access to participation in PRNS programs, classes and services. All requests are subject to available funding. Eligibility requirements may differ for each scholarship.
