In this 6 four-hour class, students will learn:
- An abbreviated pre-test will be conducted to introduce the students to the test and establish a baseline against which the students can measure their progress. The test will contain abridged forms of the Reading, Writing and Language, Math – No Calculator, and Math With Calculator tests. It will also include a fully timed Essay test.
- Class expectations and time saving methods for solving multiple-choice problems will be discussed.
- The verbal and mathematical content of the SAT. Students will be reminded of the relevant concepts that they already know and briefly introduced to material that they may be about to learn in school.
- Methods of enhancing the chances of guessing on hard questions will also be discussed and practiced.
Various aspects of writing SAT essays will be discussed and practiced.
- A concluding test similar in design to the first test will be conducted. This is to show the students by how much they have improved and in what areas they can improve further.
