Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized, single board computer with the ability to interact with the outside world through its 40-pin GPIO (general purpose input/output). This course ties together hardware and software and covers the following:
- Learn fundamental electronic concepts such as voltage, current and resistance.
- Wire up circuits using LEDs, switches and more.
- Launch a web server and create a web app to control your circuit.
- Create a client-server network app that interacts with the Raspberry Pi.
- Control circuits with Python, Bash and ScratchGPIO.
No programming experience required. The material fee covers the cost of the Raspberry Pi, power supply, 16 GB microSD card, breadboard and various components (e.g. LEDs, resistors) which is yours to keep. If you already have this, you can sign up without the material fee.
Prerequisites: None
Extended Hours
Stay for the other half of the day. There is no teacher instruction. We will help with programming as best effort.
