Ready to take on an AP level course? Our Java camp is a little different than our other camps in that it's focused on following a curriculum, for the purpose of helping our students get a head start on the AP Computer Science "A" course. While we're not likely to complete the entire course during just the camp, we'll go as far as we can based on the skillset of the campers we get. This camp is aimed at those who are about to start AP CS A, or just want to get a head start with come curriculum-based Java learning!
Feel safer with your kids at home? In response to the current COVID-19 situation, our summer camps wills also be conducted over the Internet, using the very popular web-based "ZOOM" video-conferencing software. Don’t fret, our online camps are just as awesome as our onsite sessions. Camps are Monday-Friday from 9am-11am or 1pm-3pm. Our student to coach ratio will be 6:1. Students code throughout the week then demonstrate their creations to fellow campers at the end of the last day.
Campers will be required to have the following minimum technology available at home:
- Windows PC, Apple/Mac, or Chromebook (or similar) computer (No computer, no problem. We can loan you a computer)
- Internet connection of at least 15 Mbps (most homes support at least this speed)
- Microphone/Speakers - Many computers have a built-in microphone/speakers that should work
- A video/web camera connected to your computer, which allows us to see your child and coach them better based on their reactions.
