It's time to save the galaxy with your engineering, robotics and coding skills! Students will design motorized robotic creatures and vehicles from the Star Wars and superhero movies using LEGO® components. We'll use motors along with WeDo 2.0 motion and tilt sensors to bring our creations to life! Design a moving BB8 droid with laser sounds, a remote-control A-wing, the Batmobile and more.
Then, gain a team robotics experience by working with classmates to complete challenges with MakeBlock's mBot programmable robot. You'll use Scratch-like code blocks to control this Arduino robot, maneuvering it through mazes and playing team games such as capture the flag. You'll have fun while learning how to control this sophisticated robot.
In the afternoon, design several fun space adventure computer games while learning coding fundamentals. You'll learn about loops, if/else statements, logical operators, and variables using Scratch®'s code blocks. You'll even make a game where you have to use the "force" by moving your hand to control a lightsaber in your game! And, the best thing is that you can take home your games to play with friends and family on any Windows or Mac computer.
Take your tech skills to a new level this summer with robotics, advanced Scratch game creation, and Star Wars and superhero engineering projects!
