What you'll do
Prepare to play at a carnival you create yourself in this weeklong class. The Galileo Carnival is in town—all that’s missing are the games! Learn paper construction and simple drawing techniques to make a new inventive, endlessly engaging amusement every day of the week.
Take a walk on the wild side with two animal-themed attractions: a silly creature cutout board for taking photos and an animal-shaped ring toss. Craft straw and paper darts to throw through a hoop target, then be determined to test your non-pointy projectiles until they achieve a straight, accurate flight. Learn paper crafting and taping tricks as you build a one-of-a-kind ball-in-a-basket game. Wrap up your carnival collection with a fishing game, powered by magnets and embellished with appealing patterns. Be reflective as you improve each of your inventions with rules and point systems of your own playful design.
Note:
This weeklong class is more than just innovation-igniting projects—it’s an immersive experience full of delightful details, including interactive games, silly traditions, snacks (see Materials, below) and dress-up days designed to build community, bolster confidence and deliver loads of camp-away-from-camp fun.
