The mission of Young Detroit Thinkers is to provide the Metro Detroit youth with quality programs and experiences which will enable them to excel academically in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. Our goals are to Create a culture of high expectations to acquire the needed focus and discipline for academic success, Provide opportunities for Young Detroit Thinkers members to develop, enhance, and experience their leadership capabilities, Develop creativity and special reasoning skills that are necessary for game of chess as well as with life, Instill life skills to help students become socially accepted members while engaging with others.
