These programs are an important part of OFRC’s culture and history, and offer special activities each week in addition to all of our traditional (and beloved) family camp offerings.
New! Sports & Games Week (June 8-14): It’s finally time to play at OFRC! This is the perfect week for those who love a little family friendly competition – and for those who like to play collaboratively. Badminton, puzzles, pickleball, trivia, soccer, and classic board games are just of few of the ways we’ll start the summer off with play!
International Dance Week (June 15-21): Our renowned Dance Instructors-in-Residence bring dance to life for all ages and all skill levels with an array of morning classes and evening dances. Children and adults alike enjoy learning, dancing and moving. No prior experience necessary!
Family Music Week (June 22-28): Led by talented and renowned Artists-in-Residence, this week is perfect for families who love playing or listening to live music. Beginners can learn a new instrument during free morning lessons and workshops, and more advanced players can join in on impromptu jam sessions. Nightly performances and shows round out this music-filled week. Bring instruments if you have them!
4th of July Week (June 29-July 5): Enjoy all the traditional camp activities – plus special holiday festivities including face painting, bike decorating, a parade, and the family-friendly OFRC Olympics with sack races, water balloon toss, and more. We’ll top off the day with our famous barbecue feast. Celebrate the 4th with your family all week long!
Astronomy Week (July 6-12): Explore the amazing Sierra sky with our Astronomer-in-Residence. Opportunities to learn about the night sky are available for campers of all ages. From solar system hikes to incredible evening stargazing through telescopes, this week is out of this world!
Storytelling Week (July 13-19): Love a good tale? Enjoy a week with our Storyteller-in-Residence whose tales charm, entertain, and enthrall us all! Campers of all ages will be spellbound as they hear stories and songs that capture their minds and imaginations.
New! Nature & Science Week (July 20-26): Discover the natural wonders of Spanish Creek and the Northern Sierra! Campers of all ages can explore engaging STEM activities and guided hikes with our Scientist-in-Residence, enjoy nature-inspired art projects, and get to know the local woodland wildlife.
