Students will have the opportunity to explore the simplest and most direct of printmaking mediums, the monoprint. A monotype is a direct transfer of inks to damp paper and results in beautiful original artworks on paper. Beginning with direct monotypes made by manipulating ink on a Plexiglas plate, this class will instruct participants in a myriad of ways to approach the painterly print. Using blended rolls, incorporating collage elements and stencils along with drypoint and Pronto plates students will learn about fine art printmaking with guidance focused on each artists‘ personal vision.
