Discover the beauty of the incised intaglio line in this workshop with master printmaker Kathryn Kain. Using a sharp needle, electric engraver and various other mark making tools we will etch into a plastic surface to create an engraved image. The plexiglass allows for tracing directly from a drawing or photo, once created the drypoint can be printed in a variety of ways. By using traditional oil based printmaking inks and Rives BFK paper with vegetable oil clean up, there are no toxic fumes. Paper and plates will be available for purchase and students will be able to complete an edition of original printed art in two afternoons.
