This intense course is designed for students entering Grade 8 and Grade 9. This course aims to prepare students for high school Honors Geometry and Honors Algebra 2 + Trigonometry. This summer course covers a year’s worth of content in six weeks. Each class is 4 hours long and students are assigned 2-3 hours of mandatory daily homework and self-study exercises. Students take a quiz or test every day to assess mastery of completed subject material. Formal assessments include one mid-term and one final examination. At the end of the course, the student is assigned a grade. This class will prepare students to solve and graph equations and inequalities and apply basic linear, piecewise, exponential, and quadratic functions to solve real-world problems. Students will additionally learn fundamental concepts in statistics.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Pre-Algebra, with a grade of 85% or higher.
