Pre-Calculus is arguably the most difficult course in mathematics that a high school student endures because it is a transition from simple problem solving (algebra) to more abstract, theoretical mathematics (calculus). The key to easing this transition is knowledge of shortcuts, good form in working out problems, and attention to the right details. This course is designed to emphasize these fundamental parts of the Pre-Calculus curriculum. The main topics in the course include complex numbers, rational functions, trigonometric functions, inverse functions, vectors, matrices, and parametric and polar curves. In effect, the student will not only be able to polish his or her understanding of this material, but will also significantly improve confidence in the content matter.
