Big Tigers are students 6 to 7 years of age. These students follow a different ranking system than students 8 years of age and above. Big Tiger classes are only a half-hour in length to account for the younger student’s shorter attention span. If the class size is larger than 8 students, class will be 45 minutes long. Classes teach students reaction training, eye-hand coordination, and listening skills, along with a simplified martial arts curriculum.
The additional ranks at this level allow the Big Tiger students to progress at a more manageable rate which gives them more time to develop their martial arts skills.
The colored stripes on the Camo Belt are unique to Big Tigers. These belts fit in the standard ranking system between White Belt and Gold Belt.
Note: Not all Big Tigers will be required to earn all seven of the camo-striped belts before progressing to a Standard Student Belt. Early graduation from Big Tiger classes to Beginner classes is based on the student’s comprehension of techniques and the instructor’s assessment of their readiness to move up to Beginner classes.
