Let no one despise your youth, but be an example for all believers in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. – 1 Timothy 4:12
The youth of today will be the leaders of tomorrow.
Here at St. John’s, the youth join the larger church body in worship and then attend the youth ministry program after the simple gospel, except for the 1st Sunday of the month when they stay in worship in order to participate in communion.
The St. John’s Youth Ministry program seeks to nurture the growth of students in 6th-12th grade, through encouraging the youth to become comfortable reading and discussing the Bible, applying the Bible to their lives, getting to know each other, providing leadership in worship, discussing issues at a deeper level, engaging in prayer and creating opportunities for leadership both at St. John’s and in the community. Throughout the year, students also have the opportunity to grow through monthly evening events, participating in the church Christmas pageant, community service events, the Spring sleepover, the St. John’s family snow trip, summer mission trip, Camp Elmwood and the Halloween haunted house.
